Hey lovelies.. So if you follow me on social media then you probably know I recently got a new hair do which I’m struggling to accept. I recently tried out cornrows. The last time I plaited lines was in high school and after I cleared I vowed never to do them again. However, with all the craze over cornrows lately and needing a protective hairstyle for the next couple of weeks when I travel upcountry I thought that cornrows would be a perfect fit.

I was so nervous when I was getting them done and when I was finally done….well to be honest, I hated them. I thought they brought out all my flaws and exaggerated the roundness and flatness of my head. I even quoted on Snapchat that it made my head look like a chapati.. (which is a sort of round, flat bread popular in Kenya)

But anyway, after a day of hating about it and considering undoing the whole thing all together I decided I ought to embrace it with all the flaws it portrayed because it showed me in my most natural self which I believe is beautiful. So I’m keeping them on… at least for two to three weeks. And I plan to be confident and feel the most beautiful I have ever felt in them. Ā šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚

Thank you for reading.

Until next time
