A TRIP TO OUR AFRICAN (KENYAN) VILLAGE

Hey guys!!! Happy New month of AUGUST! wow, it’s the first day of the month and I’ve just been hit by a wave of change already. All I’m trying to do is stay positive and accept that shortfalls are just but learning steps to greatness. I will probably do a more personal post on what’s been going on in my life a bit later when I am feeling more at ย ease about everything.

For today, I wanna share with you my village trip experience. I rarely ever visit the village, which is not the norm for many Kenyans. A lot of Kenyans I know make it a point to visit their village home at least once or twice a year. My family on the other hand (well apart from my dad) prefers to stay in the city all year round. So you can imagine what a surprise it was when my mum suggested we go upcountry this holiday. The reason was very valid though as we were to attend my late grandparents’ (dad’s parents) memorial service. She also told me that she would be booking both me and her a flight as opposed to having to sit in a car for 8 hours driving to Nyanza Province. In addition, we would only be going for a weekend which would make the experience so much better because honestly, I wouldn’t wanna spend more than a weekend with no WIFI.

We met with my dad at our village home, who had already travelled down before us, as well as my mum’s sisters who were staying with us. The weekend was bearable as I carried both my cameras along and spent most of my time shooting and filming. Here is an outfit I wore on one of the days which I totally love.

I also shot a vlog which is now up on my YouTube channel so please do check it out. I will link it down below. I spent days editing it so I’d really appreciate if you checked it out and shared your thoughts. Don’t forget to click that subscribe button as I have many more interesting videos coming up on a daily basis.

What are some of your experiences visiting the village? Do you enjoy it or is it a trip you really don’t look forward to? Let me know in the comment section below ๐Ÿ™‚

Until next time
